Your monitors will help you with questions in EVO. Don’t hesitate to ask them any questions you have. Each monitor is responsible for a group of students, and should know where you are at all times. Your monitor will have a room on your floor in the residence.
Breakfast and supper will be served in the dining room in the basement. It is a buffet-style, and you can eat as much as you like. The dishes will change every day. The dining hall may be used by students from other McGill language programs that are happening at the same time as yours.
|Breakfast||8:00 AM to 9:00 AM|
|Supper||6:00 PM to 7:00 PM|
Students are in double rooms. Each room has two beds, two desks, two closets, a small fridge, a microwave and a bathroom. The bathroom has towels which will be changed once a week. The bathrooms are equipped with a hair dryer. Students must supply their own toiletries (toothpaste, shampoo, etc.)
You will receive a key fob. You need this key fob to use the elevator to go to your floor, and to open your door, and the doors of other EVO rooms.
Your room will be cleaned once a week. The cleaners will change the sheets on the bed, change the towels in the bathroom and clean the room. Your room will have a small garbage can, but during the week, you can empty it and put your recyclable materials at a garbage/recycling center on your floor.
To wash and dry your clothes, you need to get a laundry card from the front desk The card has a $5 cash deposit, so you return the card when you finish the program and get your $5 back. In the laundry room, you put money on the card using a credit card with a machine. The laundry room is on the M floor, the same floor as the pool. If you aren’t sure how to use the machines, ask your monitor to help you.
EVO has many features for students. You use your key fob to open the doors of these areas:
